In our time together in college, we participated in and won many competitions and Quizzes. And all these wins, rather more importantly our zeal to participate gave us quite a good experience at quizzing. And using that experience, we organized two science quizzes together - Techtonics and TeraQuiz. But, we always had a desire to set an example by providing a full-scale, unfathomable quizzing experience to Automobile Enthusiasts.

It was October 2016, when we finally decided to fulfil that desire by organizing a city-wide AutoQuiz, which we named Need for Speed. The reception of the quiz was quite above our expectations, and we saw huge participation from not just the Engineering colleges from Gwalior, but also from schools.

We expanded our team and delegated some responsibilities to our trusted Juniors. They took care of stuff like Trophy design and manufacture, certificates, etc. And we took care of all the Design, Presentation and Operational stuff for the Quiz. Abhishek and I were the hosts for the Quiz, and Vinod and Suraj looked after the operations to ensure that the quiz went smoothly.

To design our Quiz, we took cues from Mahindra AQ. So, the entire event was divided into multiple stages of elimination starting from a Written Round, then a logo and picture identification round and lastly the Audio-Visual round which itself had 7 rounds of competition for the top 4 teams from the previous rounds.

The event went quite well, and we received a lot of positive feedback from all that were present there. They loved the experience, and we felt fulfilled with this success of ours. One more fascinating thing that happened that day was that one of the top teams was a team from School. It was great to see schoolboys going head-on against those whose specialisation was Automobile Engineering.
